Subscriber Email Program Problems
MISC. PINE, AGENT & THE_BAT

AGENT
Get rid of MIME quoted printable formating:
  1. Select Options
  2. Select General Preferences
  3. Select Languages
  4. Under Usenet Text and Email Text, make sure MIME is off
Needs to be configured for each language you have set up in Agent
PINE - UNIX
to set for US-ASCII character-set:
  1. Select "M" (main menu)
  2. Select "S" (setup menu)
  3. Select "C" (configure)
  4. Select "w" (Find word:) enter "character" for Character-Set and leave this blank (it defaults to US-ASCII) or set it explicity to "US-ASCII"
  5. While in Configure - feature list, ensure that Include-attachments-in-reply is disabled
  6. Save, return and "Q" (quit) Pine

TheBAT Version 1.xx
to deal with 8-bit or non-ASCII characters : not really an issue if all your email is in English alphabet .
  1. Select "Account" from the main menu
  2. Click on the "Transport" icon
  3. In the section "8-bit characters are treated", click on "Without changes"

to deal with 8-bit or non-ASCII characters & Base64 Quoted-printable encoding:

  1. Click on the "Options" icon
  2. Uncheck the check box in front of "Allow 8-bit characters in message header"
  3. Click OK
  4. Select "View" from the main menu
  5. Click on "Encoding" then select "None"
  6. Select "Options" from the main menu
  7. Select on "Language" then click on "English"
